Venues and clothing

Cancer Exercise Sessions are often held in gyms and sports centres.  Typically they are in a group class ‘circuit’ format, although other forms of therapy are provided at some centres.  Some are designed a short fixed length course, but most are on-going weekly sessions.

You do not need special sports gear to participate – comfortable leisure clothing that allows you freedom of movement will suffice.  You may find trainers or plimsoles comfortable for these activities.

Medical Conditions

As with all exercise you need to be sure that these activities are going to be safe for you.  For some of these sessions the instructor may require you to fill in a form to make sure they are aware of other aspects of you health (e.g. heart conditions, epilepsy).

Some classes are only available to people with specific tumours or at particular stages in their treatment. Please check before attending.
